Off to Toronto & NXNE

Leaving in a few hours to go to Toronto to attend NXNE. OK, bummed I’ll miss some of the World Cup matches but there’s a great line up and Toronto is always a fun place to visit (at least this time of the year). There’s several hundred Sonicbids bands playing so choosing who to see will be tough.

Besides the music, the thing I’m the most excited about? The “Boot the Boot In” charity soccer match on Sunday we are sponsoring. Here’s my quote from the press release: “I’m a football fan, a music fan and a networking fan. An event that combines all three? Count us in! Really, Sonicbids is proud to be a sponsor of the NXNE Put The Boot Charity Match. It’s a great cause at a great event. See you on the pitch.” I think the guys from Broken Social Scene are playing so that should be fun.

I’m also doing a panel called “DIY Starter Kit”. Great line up, with Tonni Maruyama moderating from Epitaph Canada. And, we’re hosting our customary member dinner at Kit Kat on Saturday.
