MUZU to Give One Sonicbids Artist $5,000 in Promotion

MUZU features the largest legal music catalog available online including music from all major and independent record labels, reaching over 12 million users a month in North America, Central Europe, Latin America, and Australasia. Currently, MUZU is searching for one emerging Sonicbids artist to be promoted across its website with a homepage editorial, blog interview, and music readily available to millions of listeners.

MUZU's European business development manager, Robert Sharp, who's been working for the company since its beginning stages in 2007, dished on the details of the #MUZUUnveils campaign and why it's a great opportunity for Sonicbids artists.

What can you tell us about the #MUZUUnveils campaign?

#MUZUUnveils​ is MUZU's promotion dedicated to emerging artists to showcase new music and talent. Artists get a chance to promote their new music and videos on the MUZU homepage as well as be promoted to our editorial network through recommendations. The promotion is one week long, and we also conduct an interview for the MUZU blog so our users can find out more about the featured artists. We value the promotion at $5,000 as the band gets exposure to around three million across the MUZU network.

What's your process for deciding which artist deserves MUZU's promotional help?

We're looking for great music from all genres and all ages. If it sounds good and the video completes the package, the band is likely to get through the first stages of review. After our team has got the final five artists, it will be down to what our editor knows will be popular with our audience.

What would you say is the most important component of artist submissions?

I think it's a mix of components, but the music will be first and foremost, followed by good quality audio.

Why should Sonicbids artists apply to be a part of the #MUZUUnveils campaign?

#MUZUUnveils helps artists get discovered in the MUZU community. We provide a place to distribute their content across our multi-platform network: desktop, mobile, SmartTV, Xbox. This includes partner websites such as MSN, Last.fm, and NME. Artists can then track views and activity per market via their account with realtime reporting. We provide artists with players and links that can be embedded in their websites and shared across social media with advertising to monetize the views wherever the videos are watched. We can also work with bands and artists to launch new music via marketing and promotions such as video premieres, interviews, and playlists.​ Ideally, artists will have a brand new song and video they want to showcase, so the MUZU campaign can drive additional reach and exposure to an existing release campaign they are running with.
