A New Way to Find Gigs

Written by Lou Paniccia | Mar 12, 2009 10:32 AM
We’re excited to tell you about the changes we made to improve your experience searching for gigs on Sonicbids.  We’ve heard a lot of feedback over the past few months, and, yes, we really listen! Below are some of the highlights based on that feedback:

New name: you may be used to going to the “Promoter Drop Box” to search for gigs. We’ve decided to simplify by changing the name to “Find Gigs.” You know what to do there!

Improved search functions: we’ve implemented “auto complete” technology. In less fancy terms, you start typing the name of the gig you’re looking for and we’ll finish it for you. This allows you to find what you’re looking for faster.

New look and feel: you’ll see the pages have a fresh look. We thought it was time for an update. We don’t want to bore you! Now, when you log in you can access account information and recommendations from the right side of the page, not just from within your account.

Simplified search results: we’ve removed a few columns so that the page layout is simpler and easier to scan (and we hope you find it that way). You can still add or remove content if you click on the “Customize View” link from the results page.

Gig Page Reorganization
We’ve reorganized the page so that you can see current gig information at the top and any history about that gig from past years at the bottom. If that promoter has other listings that are open, those will show as well. Everything you need to know about the gig, all in one place.

Let us know what you think. We welcome your feedback (the good, the bad and the ugly).

UPDATE: We’ve made improvments to Find Gigs based on your feedback! Read more here.
