Award-winning drummer, producer, composer and engineer Butch Vig has just been announced as the keynote speaker for the 2014 Yellow Phone Music Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A minimum of 15 Sonicbids bands will have the chance to perform and receive free conference badges to hear Vig and many other well-known industry professionals speak.

A Wisconsin native, Vig is one of the top active professionals in the industry. In addition to playing drums for the hugely successful Madison-based band Garbage, he is renowned for his production work on Nirvana’s diamond-selling album, Nevermind. He has also worked with countless other big name rock groups such as The Foo Fighters, The Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth, Muse and Green Day. This year’s Yellow Phone Music Conference will be his debut as a speaker at a national conference.

Yellow Phone's four-day gathering takes the best parts of larger conferences and condenses it into a powerful, focused event for career-minded artists and forward-thinking industry leaders. This is a great opportunity for any Sonicbids band, as this conference puts the emphasis on featuring undiscovered, unsigned acts, rather than trying to break bands that already have label support.

The all-access conference badges that every performer will receive (valued at $199 each) will include entrance to all panel discussions, receptions, VIP areas, showcases, green rooms and the closing keynote brunch on Sunday. Submit your EPK by July 1, 2014 for your chance to be selected!
