I’m hiding right now in the corner of our booth (see pictures below). The wireless in the hotel didn’t work and so I can only be on it here — but our booth is so packed that I need to pretend I don’t exist for a few minutes to give an update! Panos took lots of my thunder about giving a play-by-play update (@SonicbidsPanos), but I’ve got some good stuff for you here.
Every second of the day is busy busy busy here. Panos guilt trips me into getting up early and running down by the river – so after a quick shower and breakfast we’re off to the tradeshow. There’s a whole group of us that are talking constantly to folks — my favorite part is meeting all of the bands that we helped to get their showcase here, especially the ones that are here for the first time!
We’re giving away lots of cool stuff (like a Taylor guitar) and bands love our t-shirts, bags, and handy things like mints and earplugs. We’ve also been talking about our 4k and Tour Sponsorship program like crazy, which bands are really excited about.
After a lovely dinner, we hit the town and saw a bunch of showcases (of course). Check out my Twitter (@sonicbidstess) — I was pretty good about taking a quick photo and posting it for every band I saw. Or check out our Flickr – Brad and Brandon back in the office have graciously volunteered to grab those photos and put them in there as well.
Today Panos is moderating a panel about booking and playing festivals. I’ll be attending and putting out some good quotes via Twitter — that will be at 3:30 Central time so check in around then.
