My, my, my. It's that time of the year again. CMJ 2011 is upon us! NYC, here we come. And boy, do we have some exciting stuff going on.
If you'll be at CMJ as well, you're in luck - Kate and I will be hanging out all week at Registration, ready to greet you with a smiling face. Be sure to take a minute and say hello to us. We'll likely be bouncing off the walls and full of crazy amounts of energy. Why might that be, you ask? Well, aside from our notorious natural bubbling personalities, we are going to be flying high on Red Bull all week. Why might that be, you then ask? Welllllllll... we are beyond excited to tell you that Sonicbids and Red Bull have partnered up and are going to be announcing an exciting new program at CMJ! We can't wait to tell you more about it, so stop by at Registration to chat - and yes, we'll give you a free Red Bull.
Also be sure to check out our head honcho Panos as he leads a conversation on Thursday about "How Brands are Using Emerging Music to Reach Consumers." Panelists include our friends from Red Bull, Virgin Mobile, Shazam, The Syndicate and Fuse. It's on Thursday October 20, from 12:30pm - 1:45pm in the NYU Kimmel Center, Room 905/907.
Finally, be sure to check out our Facebook page next week - we'll be streaming music from some of our favorite Sonicbids bands playing CMJ. Here's a little taste of the bands you'll be hearing from. And check it out - they're just as excited as we are for next week!
“We're playing 2 showcases (and) we're excited for both. A few years ago, we spent a lot of time trying to claw our way into these very same clubs we're now lucky enough to play at: Rockwood Music Hall & The Mercury Lounge." -The Lumineers
“We play 5 times (at CMJ), including something with Creator's Project in Brooklyn. Everything is exciting, being in NY and staying there for a week, I love that!” - Yuksek
"We love the Big Apple and whenever we get the opportunity to play in NYC, we act like it's Game 7 at Madison Square Garden. We hope to destroy the stage, and get New Yorkers feeling good." - Mind the Gap
