The Suburbians are a 4-piece rock outfit based in Essex, UK with heart as big as their sound. Undoubtedly due to set the world alight with a host of musical forte, the band goes from strength to strength with each fist-pumping tune. Their debut album Follow The Lightsis already starting to make waves internationally, not even a year into their careers. We recently chatted with guitarist/vocalist Mark K about their hopes for those listening, their favorite gig, and where you can see them next.

What do you hope listeners will get from your music?

I hope they get what they want from it! I know that might seem like a strange answer, but we wanted to make a versatile record that delivered a lot of different styles. Whether you want to punch your fist in the air to "Breathe", or chill out on a Sunday afternoon with "Slow Down", we hope it gives something for everyone!

What’s the best gig you ever played?

Recently we played a show in London to launch our album at the 229 Club and it was incredible. We are really lucky to have such a great group of people supporting the band, and it was a huge day for us.

How has social media affected the way you market/promote your music?

It's great, now I can answer some questions online to a journalist in Boston who can post my answers on Facebook and Twitter. I think its revolutionizing promotion especially with the arts.

What’s a creative way that you interact with your fans? Live? Online?

We always like to get creative, whether we are asking people to suggest track names online, or using pyro or crazy props on-stage. We have a bunch of mental ideas up in these Suburbibrains, just wait and see...

What’s your next big gig coming up? When/Where?

We are taking a small break at the moment to write new material. We head over to tour the US and Canada in February, so we want to bring some new tunes to the table to try out when we get there!
