SXSW - Day 3 Recap: Sunday

Written by Jeff Israel | Mar 11, 2013 10:33 AM
Sunday is a day of rest... or so we're told. Because we didn't.

Emily and I hit the booth in anticipation of the 11am trade show start time, and when the floodgates opened we were ready. It was so great to spread the word of Sonicbids to new friends and also have old friends stop by. Sure, my feet and knees hurt from standing up for 7 hours but hey, you have to do what you have to do.

Of course our night didn't end there. We were all over the map (of Austin.) First stop;  Mohawk where our good, good pals UME were opening for Cloud Nothings and Portugal, The Man. To say they destroyed would be an understatement. Lauren always leaves a wave of fans in her wake.

Then, it was off to Stubb's where Dawes played. Taylor Goldsmith was a master and the new tunes had the fans as spellbound as the hits. The sign of an amazing band.

After that it was off to a show of a band I didn't know much about. They were called Alpine and they are now my favorite band. With two lead singers, seeing Alpine is like a Choose Your Own Adventure with both paths leading towards amazing music. Please, please, please listen to my new Australian friends Alpine.

Now, well now it's 3am and I am passing out.

Until Day 4.
