Choices: A Community Festival - Choices will take place at Lake Macquarie Light Railways, Toronto near Newcastle NSW on December 3rd, 2011. It will be an interactive event that will see a number of community stalls offering entertaining interactive activities. In a similar vein, we are asking musicians to perform both at a set time as well as interact with the crowd on short train rides. While we cannot pay any fees associated with performance, we will ensure that musicians accepted into the event will be listed in as much pre-publicity as possible. The organizing body is a family support service, and the concept of "choices" is related to positive life choices, particularly in relation to the family. The deadline to submit is TODAY, Oct. 15th.
Ocelot Robot Film Festival - Ocelot Robot is hosting a new film festival in Los Angeles for independent bands, artists and filmmakers. Submissions are being accepted in two categories: Music Video & Short Film (under 15 minutes). The festival will be held on Thursday, November 3 at Busby's East in LA. The five members of Ocelot Robot will select 4-6 finalists in each category. These finalists will have their short film or music video shown at the 1st Annual Ocelot Robot Film Festival at Busby’s East at 8pm. The audience will vote to pick a single winner in both the short film category and the music video category. This festival is open to all genres and this will be a great way to connect with independent artists and filmmakers for possible licensing opportunities. The deadline to submit is TOMORROW, Oct. 16th.
Fat Baby Presents: Halloween Party/Charity Concert - Live Riot Booking is currently accepting submissions for bands to play in upcoming Halloween shows on Oct 30th & Oct 31st at Fat Baby in NYC. All proceeds go to Help Brings Hope for Haiti, a non-profit organization that raises money for education, community service projects, and health care in Haiti. (http://www.hbhh.org). Since this is a charity event, bands will receive limited compensation. They are looking for local NYC/Brooklyn bands with a history of playing NYC venues and can bring a large local draw. Please do not apply if you are not from NYC/Brooklyn. The deadline to submit is Oct. 17th.
KGHP-FM Seattle - KGHP-FM, based in Seattle, WA, is looking for artists to submit songs for play on their streaming internet radio station. They accept most genres like jazz, blues, reggae, roots and Americana, classic rock, and vintage music. KGHP-FM is an educational/community radio station serving the Gig Harbor and Key peninsulas in the southern Puget Sound region of Washington. The deadline to submit is Oct. 20th.
Rock The Mic - Rock the Mic is a monthly indie showcase held in Long Island City, NY. With the best unsigned artists from the New York area, the showcases are always full of talented artists and bands that attract A&R and industry people. Shows are held once per month, and feature 8-9 artists who each perform 3 songs. Sonicbids artists who play a wide variety of music are encouraged to submit to this opportunity. They are seeking artists to perform as part of the November showcase on November 19th. The deadline to submit is Oct. 23rd.
