Berklee College of Music Scholarship - Berklee and Sonicbids have partnered to give a singer/songwriter a chance to win a scholarship to Berklee's Five-week Summer Performance Program running from July 9 through August 12 at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. The top four finalists will travel to Berklee to perform in front of students and faculty on June 9, competing for the scholarship. Each summer, approximately 900 participants from across the U.S. and around the world (70 countries) share in this unique summer experience--all instruments, all contemporary styles, and all levels of musical ability. Five-Week is your opportunity to experience the summer of a lifetime at the world's most prestigious institution for the study of contemporary music. The deadline to submit is May 10th.

 

Nashville SongWriters Festival on Music Row - The 9th annual Song Fest on Music Row is 3 days of live, original music of all genres performed in Nashville, TN. Multiple stages, classes, open houses, networking and gathering of old friends represent the past, present and future of songwriting. There is 1 slot reserved for a Sonicbids artist to perform their original songs live at the festival. The Songwriters Festival is part live original music festival, part music conference, part networking opportunity and part gathering of old friends held on June 3-5, 2011. The live performances, education and Open House are concurrently running events. Attendees can take in all or parts and 'play it by ear'. The deadline to submit is May 14th.

 

Red Sky Festival - The Metropolitan Entertainment and Convention Authority of Omaha and Live Nation are pleased to present the first-ever Red Sky Music Festival in and around TD Ameritrade Park in downtown Omaha. Omaha's original alternative newsweekly, The Reader, is helping to select the bands to perform at the festival, and will do so by holding a month long showcase, where bands compete for a performance slot at the festival. 20 Sonicbids bands will be selected to perform at the Red Sky Festival. The artists who are selected to play at the festival will be compensated $500 or $1000. The deadline to submit is May 18th.

Full Sail University - Free Recording Studio Time - Full Sail University, located near Orlando, FL, is looking for musicians/bands/artists to come to their campus and perform in their Recording Session Labs in exchange for FREE Recording Time and a master of the multi-track sessions created in ProTools. Musicians/Bands/Artists of every genre ranging from folk and country to string quartets and rock bands are encouraged to submit, as the students would like the chance to work with as many genres as possible. The Artist Relations Department at Full Sail University typically books 30 musicians/bands/artists per month. This is a great opportunity for artists to obtain a professional high-quality recording of their music. Artists must have at least 3 songs in their EPK, and if selected will need to sign Full Sail University’s Artist Agreement. The deadline to submit is May 26th.

The Next Wedding Classic - The Next Wedding Classic is a free internet song contest for original wedding songs. TNHC showcases songs that may not always be "cutting edge" according to current music trends, but rather, may stand the "test of time" for years to come. Artists are encouraged to submit entries with themes of love, honor, commitment and hope for the future that might be appropriate for a wedding ceremony, reception, party or dance. Selected songs will compete with other songwriters for a First Place award of $300 as well as the opportunity to be presented to major label recording artists for inclusion on their future projects. The deadline to submit is May 28th.
