As I mentioned a couple weeks ago, I was down in New York City attending CMJ and meeting a ton of members at our booth. Some of those members just happened to be Brian, Margaret and Mike of The Seedy Seeds. We actually took a little video of them at the booth and I gave them my card and mentioned that they should stop by the Sonicbids office next time they are in Boston to hang out and say hi.
Well, a few weeks later I got an email from Brian and here’s what it said:
“Hey Tess… Have you ever had/considered a band actually playing at your office? We travel with a small PA, and have been known to bring some good times to small spaces similar to office environments. What better way to break a case of the ‘Mondays?’ We would be totally down to spread some of the good Seedy gospel at the end of your workday.”
So, I talked to Panos to see if we could have The Seedy Seeds play here in the office or if there would be any problems with noise or the other offices in our building. Of course, Panos said:
“I love them. This will be cool. Don’t let anyone give you any bull**** reasons why we can’t do it.”
So whaddya know, we just went ahead and did it… and the band was amazing! The photo is of The Seedy Seeds with Panos and me right after the set and after we gave them a check plus some cool Sonicbids swag for playing for us (note the Sonicbids undies Mike is proudly holding up!). Check out the video below for a couple clips from the show – their drum set lit up with the kick, so halfway through we turned off the lights to rock out!
