Even if it's intended to be a compliment.

2. "So, what do you guys do for a living?"

I really don't want to talk about the worst part of my day, thank you.

3. "Hey, I don't have any money. Can I have a CD/T-shirt/sticker? Pretty please?"

It has $15 written on it for a reason.

4. "Unfortunately, we can't pay any of the bands, but I swear, it'll be incredible exposure!"

Great question!

6. "Could you guys turn your amps down? The folks in the bar are trying to watch the game."

7. "You know, getting discovered is pretty easy. You just need to put some videos on YouTube!"

Unfortunately, that's unlikely unless we add an adorable kitten to the lineup.

8. "Great set, but I couldn't hear the _______ at all."

Rad – we couldn't hear it, either.

9. "You guys need more cowbell."

Dylan Welsh, a native of Seattle, Washington, grew up cutting his teeth in various club bands around the Northwest. Seeking a more diverse and challenging environment, he attended Berklee College of Music with hopes of gaining new perspectives and finding his own voice. Though music is what he does best, writing and journalism are other passions that he has kindled throughout his academic life.
