What does folk mean to you? To the organizers of Folk Alliance International, it's all about community  a whole that's greater than the sum of its instruments, mixed genres, and deep history. One hundred Sonicbids artists will have the chance to immerse themselves in that community and perform in official showcases during the 27th annual Folk Alliance International Conference, set for February 18-22, 2015 in Kansas City, MO.

"I was astonished at how open everyone was," says Rebecca Rego, front woman of Illinois-based indie folk band Rebecca Rego & The Trainmen, which was one of 24 bands selected to perform at a "Sonicbids Presents" showcase earlier this year. "It was really great to talk about music with people from literally all over the globe. We met musicians from Canada as well as the South, Northeast, and fellow Midwesterners…. Folk Alliance provides a comfortable environment for people to really connect."

Apply to play the 27th annual Folk Alliance International Conference by November 4, and you could be part of next year's welcoming bunch of fellow folkies.
