London Tone Music Group is starting a momentous campaign to record and release 52 singles of emerging and established artists, one each week, for 52 weeks. London Tone Music will be releasing music in all major genres. 32 Sonicbids artists will be selected to take part in the launch and have their music recorded at the award winning London Bridge Studio (Seattle) or Crown City Studio (Pasadena). We sat down with the men behind London Tone Music Group to learn more about their latest project 52x52

Can you tell us a little about the London Tone Music Group?

The London Tone Music Group is a new music company made up of five very passionate music industry professionals. We have combined the vision and success of two of the world’s top recording studios, Seattle’s London Bridge Studio and Pasadena’s Crown City Studios and their talented co-owners, Jonathan Plum, Geoff Ott and Eric Lilavois, with well-established and respected industry vets, Jeff Heiman and Jeffrey Ross, founders of the music, branding, and career development company, 2 Jeffs On Music.

What is 52x52?

52x52 is our very ambitious (some might call crazy) promotion to launch our new music company, London Tone Music. We are recording 52 original songs by 52 new and emerging artists and releasing them, one song a week, over 52 weeks beginning on Monday, January 20, 2014. There are some artists already signed and in various stages of the recording process. We have partnered with Sonicbids to find more great artists to fill the slots that are still open. All the information and requirement for submission are available here on Sonicbids. All genres of music will be represented and we will continue the search for great new artists and songs well into 2014.

What are you looking for in the artist song submissions?

We are looking for great original songs of all genres from compelling artists and bands, at any stage in their careers. We require that the songs have not been commercially released. We are interested in recording new songs at either London Bridge or Crown City and marketing and promoting them through the London Tone Music Team of experts. The London Bridge and London Tone teams, with the assistance of a panel of outside music experts will choose the songs.

How did you come up with the idea?

A very high caliber of talent has been recording at London Bridge Studio, but their music was not getting promoted or sold effectively. The original idea to release a song a week on the London Bridge website, morphed into the founding of a full fledged record label offering an opportunity to record with award- winning producers and have the songs promoted and marketed by a team of experts. In exchange, we share in the financial rewards that may come with any commercial success.

For those who don't know, can you talk a little about London Bridge Studio and Crown City Studio?

London Bridge Studio, founded in 1985 is the Seattle-based iconic and highly respected home of some of the most remarkable recordings over the past twenty years, beginning with pioneering the sound of Seattle’s grunge movement, with Pearl Jam (10) Alice in Chains, Soundgarden (Grammy-winner “Louder Than Love”) Queen’s of the Stone Age and Candlebox. Today, the studio continues their tradition of recording innovation and artist discovery with some of today’s most groundbreaking artists. The studio is co-owned by producers/engineers/songwriters/musicians, Jonathan Plum, Geoff Ott and Eric Lilavois.
Crown City Studios, based in Pasadena is a highly regarded studio, owned by Eric Lilavois, known for recording trendsetting new bands, music for film and television and prospective major label artist demos. It was founded in 2004. The studio has garnered considerable praise for its unique, creative atmosphere, and multipurpose use. Many music videos and television shows have been filmed at Crown City Studios.
