Bringing Love to the Masses
After almost a year together, Audri & Aaron have made a name for themselves. Since meeting in college, this duo from Illinois immediately connected over a talent they share for songwriting. After Aaron’s girlfriend kept pushing them to enter the maurices contest, they finally submitted on the final night. “Thank goodness I did!” says Aaron.
On the Road AgainAudri & Aaron say their music is about “a worldly love” and they hope that’s just what their fans get from their tunes. “We just want it to cause a reaction that goes much deeper than just the initial like or dislike.” Instead, the duo looks to their artistic drive to evoke the crowd, a drive that has been natural to them. “For both of us, it is just something that has always been inside…we’ve been pretty blessed.” As for their live show, the duo explains it’s something they continue to work on, especially when competing with the “here and now” society that is content watching a performance on YouTube instead of waiting for a live show. But catching an Audri & Aaron is well worth the wait, counting a mid-show proposal as one of their best on stage moments and inviting the crowd to join in with shakers handed out during the pre-show.
All in a Day’s Work
Between writing, performing, working and going to class, Audri & Aaron rely on their smartphones to keep them on their game. They also depend on social media claiming “I’m not too sure how we would go about promoting ourselves” without Facebook and Twitter. And like a gracious band they give credit to their predecessors, “I can’t even begin to imagine what it must have been like to book shows or contact promoters without the internet,” explains Aaron. The duo believes in the importance of connecting with their fans through unlimited resources online. “Whether it be to test out a new song, to show a live show, or just to give your fans an update on what is going on, keeping up on videos is pretty important.” And they know why it works too -“Fans like to know what you are up to on a daily basis. It can become like being in a relationship with fans and musicians.”

Just days away from their debut in Austin, looking back Audri & Aaron owe this great opportunity to their fans. “I think that this contest really opened our eyes to just how incredible our fans are,” adds Aaron. The group also made some new fans throughout the contest by playing at their local maurices and reaching out to local media. All of their hard work is about to pay off, “We are absolutely thrilled for the show with the Bangles and Sick of Sarah at SXSW.”
