Find me on:
Little Brave is the alias of Stephanie Briggs. Whether performing with a full band, full theatrical production troupe, or solo, her music is adventurous, musical, emotional, and witty. We recently had the chance to chat with this unique artist to discuss his favorite gig, her favorite way to connect with her fans, and where you can see her next.

What do you hope listeners will get from your music?

I hope listeners will be delighted and challenged at the same time.  At the core, I want people to find joy in the music, even the sad songs.  Because it all comes from the whimsy and wonder of experience, I hope they also find a connection in what I am singing.

What’s the best gig you ever played?

I am in the middle of a move to Austin.  At the beginning of this month we played a show with Suzanna Choffel at Momo's.  That was a turning point where I finally felt like I was appreciated by music fans and musicians, and I now have the right band to help me fulfill my performance visions.

What’s your prediction for the next big advancement in how we find/listen to/share music?

So much stuff is digital already.  I see music turning even more to the internet now with Spotify, and it's only a matter of time before physical copies of albums are extinct among the DIY artists.  That being said, I could never stop making them.  I love the smell, the feel, and the tangible product in my hands.  If anything, I'm thinking of creating more handmade packaging.

What’s your favorite way/tool/site for you to interact with your fans in the digital age? Do you recommend anything to other artists?

My favorite sites right now are Facebook and Twitter.  I constantly use those sites to connect.  I just got an invite to Google+ so we'll see how that pans out.  I recommend every DIY artist to use any digital tool at your disposal.  There's no harm in getting your name out.  But even more than that, in whatever you use, be yourself.  That's the only way to stand out and be truly unique.

What’s your next big gig coming up? When/Where?

In San Marcos, TX, at the Texas Music Theater with Bob Schneider.  But by the time you read this, it will have been played and partied.  My favorite shows are with my band.  I've got a few of those shows in Austin, TX, at the One2One Bar on August 6th and 26th, and at Momo's on August 11th and 24th.
