Each year, the 2014 World Music Expo (WOMEX) in Spain selects dozens of Sonicbids artists to play. They're accepting submissions exclusively through Sonicbids from now through April 18th, with the special early pricing discount ending on March 31st.
WOMEX is an international fair that brings together thousands of musicians and music professionals. It focuses on folk, roots, ethnic, and traditional music through concerts, conferences, and documentaries. WOMEX is "the most important international professional market of world music of every kind," according to UNESCO.
In addition to representatives from international labels, digital and physical distributors, tour agents, and journalists, nearly half of the 2,000+ attendees list themselves as festival or concert bookers, making WOMEX an elite opportunity for world musicians.
Submit to WOMEX before the end of March to save $10 on the submission fee. And don't forget to read the instructions carefully – you also need to fill out part two of the application in order to be considered!
