Skinny's Lounge Los Angeles - Skinnys Lounge is a new 3000 square foot venue centrally located in the heart of the NOHOActive Image Arts district on Lankershim Blvd. in North Hollywood. It is looking to book solo artists and bands to perform live at the venue. The club books rock and all sub genres on Mondays, Singer/Songwriter types, and all sub genres Wednesday. Selected bands get to play a 30-minute set. Artists are compensated depending on draw. The deadline to submit is March 11.
School of Groove High School Battle of the Bands - The School of Groove is a contemporary music school in Cambridge, MA that provides students with lessons, band coaching, classes, and outstanding performance opportunities. The School of Groove will be hosting a high school battle of the bands, taking place at Cambridge's Premiere Music Venue, Ryles Jazz Club. The event will take place on May 21, 2011 (4-11pm). Participating bands will compete to win the following: 1 full day Recording/Mixing Lock In at Sprintline Recording Studio (Brighton, MA), a $250 Shopping Spree to Daddy's Junky Music or Guitar Center, and a paid concert performance at School of Groove 2011 summer camp. Tom & Toon Manhattan - Tom & Toon, located in the theater district a short walk from Times Square, is a New York experience for the senses. They are a bar, restaurant, and music venue catering especially to Broadway theatergoers. They are seeking instrumentalists and vocalists performing soothing, interesting music such as Cabaret, Broadway, jazz, adult contemporary, etc. They are not interested in rock, metal, reggae, country, etc. Performances are available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Fridays each week. There are 1-3 performers each night between 7-10 pm. Bands are compensated with a flat performance fee. The deadline to submit is March 25.
