About Your EPK: We Hear Ya!

Find me on:

2013 has been a big year for Sonicbids! Since our “big reveal,” we’ve been listening to your responses and feedback and have been incorporating user suggestions into our new format. We’ve made your EPK a whole lot more digestible, really focusing on making all of your media more accessible to the people you want to show it to most: promoters! Here’s some information on the changes we made:

We cleaned up our act

You wanted a simpler layout and we gave it to you. We’ve created a much tidier EPK by “tabbing” all your media. You now have a separate section or tab for your music, photos, calendar, band information, and press coverage.

Bonus: We also optimized our font sizes and colors for a better visual experience.

We’re focusing on you

We’ve put your identity as an artist at the forefront by making your band or musician bio “sticky,” meaning no matter which tab people are visiting, your summary and photo are always at the top.

Pro Tip: Take special care to put your best foot forward here! Find a great photo of you or your band and write a clear, engaging bio that reflects who you are.

We’re putting your social media to work

We know how important your networks are so we better integrated Sonicbids with your social media. We’ve incorporated a Facebook “like” widget—viewers can now see how many people are following you on Facebook.

Our newest addition is the inclusion of a hashtag viewer. Visitors can now see anything that’s been “#’d” for you or your band.

Pro Tip: Be sure to create a unique hashtag for yourself. It helps promoters see your online presence, as well as how your fans interact with you on platforms like Instagram and Twitter. Promoters care about how you engage your fans!

Calendar Upgrade!

We’ve introduced a more dynamic calendar for our users and their fans. We’ve upgraded from a list format of past and future gigs, to your profile photo above the date the gig is being played or was played. We also added a conspicuous “share” button. Now anyone can now put your gig on Facebook blast with the click of a button.

Bands are able to set an age requirement for gigs as well as announce ticket prices and provide links for purchase. If visitors are wondering about where you're playing, we've added a lot more information about the venue including address, venue description, and a website link. Do they need directions too? They can access Google Maps straight through Sonicbids.

We’re still working on transferring everyone’s data over to the new platform. Integration is on the horizon! Your patience is always appreciated.

Bonus: Visitors can now see who you’re playing with in addition to where!

So we’ve made a lot of changes but there’s still more to come!

One upcoming feature we’re excited about is allowing bands to post their own gigs. If you’re a musician or a band looking for another music group to tour with, open for an upcoming show, or feature on a new album, we want to help. Sonicbids is for musicians and we want to ensure we keep it that way.

Thanks again for your understanding while we work to bring you an overall better product and experience here at Sonicbids. Expect a continuous flow of improvements through 2014!
