Berklee and Sonicbids have partnered to give four bands a chance to battle it out for a $20,000 scholarship to Berklee’s Five-week Summer Performance Program running from July 10 through August 13 at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
Here’s a quick synopsis on how it works, but make sure you read all the details on the gig listing:
- Submit your application on Sonicbids for review by Berklee.
- Berklee’s panel of judges will narrow the list down to the top four bands. Submissions will be judged on Songwriting, Vocal and Instrumental Craft, Group Performance and Production.
- The top four bands will travel to Berklee, taking videos of their “Road to Berklee” for Berklee staff and students, Sonicbids teammates, fans and family to enjoy.
- Bands will showdown at a Battle of the Bands at Café 939 on June 19. The bands will perform in front of an audience of Berklee faculty, students, Boston music industry experts, press and more. And the event will be streamed live for your family and friends to tune in.
- Berklee’s panel of judges will choose the Battle of the Bands winner. This is the band who will come to Berklee for the Five-week Summer Performance Program with the scholarship from Berklee and a $3,000 cash stipend from Sonicbids to cover room and board.
It’s free for your band to submit, but make sure you that you’ve read the details before you send along your EPK to make sure you’re band is eligible.
