Something cool happened Monday. I have to preface this by saying something cool happens everyday, but I digress.
Something cool happened Monday and it had nothing to do with Violin Wolf.
While Emily and I were talking to people about Sonicbids and explaining all of the cool stuff we do a woman came up and said to a guy inquiring about us and said, "I love Sonicbids!" She was Australian and went on to say that it was tough to get gigs for her sometimes but thanks to Sonicbids she's been playing shows all over.
So that was a cool thing.
Other cool things happened as well. The Sonicbids gang found ourselves on the roof of a swanky apartment building for a party hosted by Angry Birds. There were Angry Birds perched all over the place and there were even some brave souls swimming. They were serving chicken wings which seemed a like a distasteful thing to serve at an Angry Birds party. Also, there was no slingshot to fire birds across the river. Still a great time.
From there we trekked over to Rainey Street. It's a super amazing part of town where they converted houses into small concert venues. We hooked up with some friends from Kopecky Family Band and Brite Futures and caught Alpine again. We are obsessed.
After that Emily, Sam and I tried our hand at smashing a giant heavy guitar into a carnival game-like power meter. We are all so strong. Trust me.
From then it was back to the Mohawk where Divine Fits were playing. If you don't know them, you should. They feature Dan Boeckner of Wolf Parade and Britt Daniel of Spoon. An indie super group if you will. They were rad and loud as hell.
From there it was food trucks and then bed.
Music hasn't even started and my voice is gone, knees and feet are shot.
