
In The Groove: High School Battle of the Bands - In the Groove: Battle of the Bands 2011 will present 64 bands from throughout the Northeast in two rounds of competition with prizes available in both rounds. The competition has divisions for both 18+ and under 18 bands. The promoters welcome a variety of genres including acoustic, adult contemporary, classic rock, country, electronic/dance/DJ, folk, funk, Gospel, hip hop, rap, jazz, Latin, metal, pop, punk, rock, reggae, singer/songwriter, urban, R&B, and world. Battles will be held in Cambridge, New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington DC. The deadline to submit is TODAY, Oct. 8th.
Accion Art Fest - The first art festival in Mexico, is now on its third edition including a variety of performing and plastics arts will have one stage for emerging bands. This year's Accion! Art fest, which will be held October 27 & 28, will continue to provide exciting and affordable entertainment for all ages. This year’s confirmed line up will be Robot Junkie paradise (MEX), Rock and Rolles (MEX), Dorian (SPA), DJ PAPACHEKO, and DJ JOE. They will be reserving one slot for a band and another slot for a DJ. There will be an estimated crowd of 600 people at this year’s festival. The deadline to submit is Oct. 10th.
Cafe Wha? - Since the 1950s the Café Wha? has been a favorite hot spot cornered in the heart of Greenwich Village. The Café Wha? was the original stomping ground for prodigies Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix. Bruce Springsteen, Peter, Paul & Mary, Kool and the Gang, as well as comedians, Richard Pryor and Bill Cosby also began their road to stardom on this historic stage. The Café Wha? is looking to book Sonicbids original artists and bands to perform live for various bookings. Must be able to draw at least 75 in NYC. A wide variety of genres are accepted. We provide sound equipment, backline and a sound engineer. The deadline to submit is Oct. 12th.
Jon Secada's Magic City Casino - Jon Secada's Magic City Casino, located in Miami, Florida is a full-scale casino and venue featuring great live dance music. It is looking to book local to touring solo artists and bands to perform live on Saturday or Sundays at least twice a month. Magic City welcomes Anglo, Spanish, and Latin dance music only. Artists must be able draw 1,000+ for the big stage with anything below 500 being on the smaller stage. Artists will be compensated a negotiable rate at the time of booking. The deadline to submit is Oct. 18th.
WHFR.fm - Urban Rock Radio airs Wednesdays from 10AM-12PM on WHFR 89.3 FM in Dearborn, MI. The station also streams live via WHFR.fm. They are in search of rock bands, afropunk, urban alternative, and afropunk indie bands for the Urban Rock Radio show. WHFR programs alternative variety, music little heard elsewhere on Detroit area radio stations, almost 40% of which is classical but also featuring alternative/modern rock, big band, country, Americana/folk, blues, hip-hop, jazz, space rock, urban, and world music, in addition to a weekly public affairs show. All music shows highlight new releases, independent labels, and local artists. The deadline to submit is Oct. 18th.
