Working Rhythms Reviews - Working Rhythms, a brand new indie rock blog, is now accepting singles and videos for review. This new blog gets about 200 unique page views a week. The reviewers have 15 years of film and music industry experience and will be doing reviews once or twice per week. They are reserving 3 slots a month for Sonicbids artists. The deadline to submit is Dec. 27th.
Soulcity Concert Opening Act - Pink Label presents The Ultimate Performer weekly competition Mid –October 2011 thru January 2012. The Ultimate Performer features over $10,000 in cash, prizes and incentives. Each week the Artist will perform in front of a 200-person audience and be judged by a variety of music and entertainment professionals. The panel of judges will send the top 10 artists to the final competition where first and second place winners will be selected January 2012 in New York, NY. This event will be held at the Iguana in NYC and they are looking to book about 9 artists a week. The deadline to submit is Dec. 28th.
Folkey Monkey - The Folkey Monkey is a showcase vehicle for acoustic singer/songwriters. Each show, host Joe Rathburn and percussionist Jeff Stasny share the stage with a different invited guest songwriter, where they trade original songs and stories for two hours straight. Also each week Joe's guest picks a favorite artist (or occasionally a topic) to whom they pay tribute throughout the evening. Artists will be compensated 50% of the door. The deadline to submit is Dec. 30th.
GNYC Music Company: Premium Bookings - GNYC Music Company, the company behind M.E.A.N.Y. Fest, is offering the opportunity for artists to perform at notable NYC venues such as Delancey, Bowery Poetry Club, Ace of Clubs, and many more. Artists will be compensated. The amount depends on the artists' draw. Artists play 30-minute sets. A sound system and backline will be provided at the venue but artists are responsible for bringing their own instruments and any additional equipment. The deadline to submit is Jan. 4th.
