Variety's Got Talent 2012 - The 2nd Annual Variety's Got Talent presented by Coast Capital Savings! Are you between 13 and 29? Were you born to sing? Enter Variety's Got Talent and you could be BC's next singing sensation. The finalists will come to Vancouver to perform at the River Rock Show Theatre on February 3rd for a panel of celebrity and industry judges. The winner will appear on the Variety Show of Hearts Telethon, February 11th & 12th on Global BC and receive an amazing Tom Lee Music prize package including $1000 voucher and a free program (up to $500 value) at a Tom Lee Music Education Centre in British Columbia. Beats and Lyrics Magazine - Beats And Lyrics Magazine is a bi-monthly print magazine that keeps its readers up to date with current affairs in the urban community. It is looking for at least 1 Hip-Hop, Rap, R&B or Urban Sonicbids artist for an emerging artist feature. All submitted EPK's will be reviewed by industry professionals to determine candidates for the current issue of Beats And Lyrics Magazine. Further rules and regulations will be sent to each candidate in regards to Beats And Lyrics Magazine. One selected Sonicbids artists will be given a feature at no cost. The deadline to submit is Jan. 17th.
Who's On First? - Who's on First is a bar directly across the street from Fenway Park. They are looking to book local and regional bands and DJs on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. They have a 325 capacity, stage, dance floor, full bar, and a 2am liquor license. All shows need to be 21+, no exceptions. The bands or DJs receive the door money, so the amount of money you make is directly proportional to how many people you draw into the bar. They are open to all types of genres including but not limited to classic rock, alternative, cover bands, country, and more. All bands and DJs are responsible for bringing their own sound equipment and sound technician. The deadline to submit is Jan. 17th.
