This listing is for the official Berklee-sponsored party at SXSW 2012 and is only open to acts that include alumni of Berklee College of Music. Dorsett Roundtable Super Bowl Special - The Dorsett Roundtable Super Bowl Special is aired by NBC Sports on Super Bowl Sunday. It is hosted by NFL Hall of Fame running back Tony Dorsett and two time starting Super Bowl safety Anthony Dorsett Jr., plus a prominent guest list of current and retired professional athletes, coaches, broadcasters, entertainers and politicians. Bands included during the show will receive any applicable performance royalties through their PRO. The deadline to submit is Jan. 25th.
Wooden Nickel Music - Wooden Nickel Music, located in Fort Wayne, IN, has been around since 1982 and is the place to go for any music fan in the city. They are looking to book local solo artists and bands to perform live shows on various nights of the week. Wooden Nickel welcomes a wide variety of genres, though a preference is given to rock, punk, blues and similar styles. All shows at Wooden Nickel are all ages and free, so this venue is good for bands that do not need to be paid to play and wish to do promotional performances to build their following. Artists are responsible for bringing their own instruments and sound equipment. The deadline to submit is Jan. 26th.
Celebrate Fairfax! Festival - Now in its 31st year, the Celebrate Fairfax! Festival is Northern Virginia's largest music and entertainment event. Each year, more than 65,000 attendees are entertained by performers on 7 stages, with interactive activities, carnival rides, community and business exhibits, great food, and special attractions. Celebrate Fairfax! is held annually on the second weekend after Memorial Day. Compensation is negotiable, but generally ranges from $400-$600 for the Cox Rocks! Stage, $250-$400 for the Starr Hill Music Showcase, and $100-$200 for the Acoustic/Singer-Songwriter/a Cappella stage. The deadline to submit is Jan. 27th.
