As musicians, it seems like we're always the ones who have to come up with clever pitch emails and incessantly reach out to venues to try to get performance opportunities. Wouldn't it be nice if they had an easy way to discover us for a change?

We hear you, and we think you deserve a better way to get discovered and network. That's why we’re so excited to tell you about an awesome new tool that was just launched this week called Sonicbids Band Search.

It's already becoming the go-to method for promoters to find bands who are a great fit for their venues, and even for musicians looking for other acts to join their bill. Anyone who uses Sonicbids Band Search can narrow results by location, genre, local or touring, social stats, and much more to help them find exactly the type of artist or band they're looking for.

What can I do to rank higher in search results and make sure people find my band?

  • The more complete your EPK is, the higher you'll rank in search.
  • The more active you are on Sonicbids, the higher you'll rank in search.
  • Connect your social stats – promoters love filtering by social media following!
  • Keep your gig calendar up to date, always. If you don't list shows you've recently played and shows you have coming up, people will assume you're not actively performing!

Why would I need to do this if people can just go to my website and contact me there?

Because if someone who has the perfect gig for your band but doesn't know you exist tried to Google search "local metal band in Boston with at least 2,000 Facebook fans and has played shows in the area within the last 60 days and has press reviews readily available for me to read," do you really think anything would come up – let alone your band? Yeah, exactly. Sonicbids Band Search makes it dead simple for people to find awesome up-and-coming bands (i.e., yours!) that they would have no other way of discovering.

Once someone finds me, how do they get in touch with me?

The days of promoters only being able to contact you on Sonicbids if you were selected for a gig listing are long gone. Along with Band Search, we also recently launched the Sonicbids Messaging Inbox so that everyone on Sonicbids can contact each other, even outside of gig listings! Keep an eye on your inbox to see who's discovered you on Band Search and wants to work with you.
